Semi-fixed implants
If the patient does not have the financial means to afford any of the proposed fixed solutions or if the bone structure of the arch allows for the insertion of two or four implants, the patient will be presented with the possibility of obtaining a semi-fixed acrylic prosthesis supported by at least four implants in the upper arch and by two or four implants in the lower arch. Semi-fixed prostheses are an excellent solution for all edentulous patients who no longer want to wear a removable prosthesis that causes them chewing problems or because they are unstable. No type of adhesive is used for the use of semi-fixed prostheses, there is no danger of them falling out during chewing, a conversation, or during a laugh.

What should be done when the bone is missing, or the patient is advised against dental implants? People who have had an edentulous mouth for many years or who wear a removable prosthesis probably have their bone retracted to the maximum limits, and they no longer have the alveolar ridge in which implants could be inserted. The state and consistency of the bone can be ascertained with a CT scan, and if it is shown that the patient is not a candidate for implant insertion, an alternative is sought. The same applies to patients who suffer from certain infectious or chronic diseases, osteoporosis, and serious cardiac or oncological problems. Is there a solution for them? Yes, there is! At our center, you can find a wide range of removable prostheses, total or partial, in acrylic or Wiron prostheses, but we can certainly recommend THERMOPRESS prostheses! It fits perfectly without metal parts, is soft, transparent, and with the same color as the gums, is biocompatible, and does not contain monomers and catalysts - it is the ideal choice for all patients allergic to certain metals.
